Winter dog fashion

Over the recent years pet fashion has turned into a multi-billion dollar industry, with high street stores like River Island all the way up to big named labels such as Ralph Lauren and Burberry creating items just for pets. You can get anything from simple sweaters and rain jackets all the way through to high-end ball gowns for those pooches who like to live the luxury lifestyle. With the cold weather rushing in, now is the time to treat your fur babies to some winter clothing. Here I will be showing you the most iconic styles for the season.

Waterproof rain jackets are definitely a must for this weather, as England rains on average 133 days of the year. These jackets can also be used in minus temperatures as some come with a fur layer on the inside to keep your four-legged friends warm. All of these jackets are machine washable and come in various different colours and sizes. This very fashionable padded green coat comes with a fleece liner and adjustable velcro straps for a very reasonable price of £11.95. To view this product go to ideas4pets.co.uk

When the weather is chilly, why not treat your dog to a knitted jumper? You can choose from a variety of different styles and some websites even let you design your own patterns. You can also get matching accessories such as socks and bobble hats just like I did for my French Bulldog. Breeds with pointier ears are more susceptible to the colder climates so this factor alone is why you should go the extra mile to keep them protected. Take a look at this gorgeous red knitted turtle neck, this item will ensure that you keep your fur baby warm yet fashionable. This item has been created to keep the heat in which is important for those wintery walks. This is available at https://www.etsy.com/

Dog jumper

Many companies are now tailoring jumpers and fleeces to specific dog breeds. Take a look at this pug fleece, available at https://www.equafleece.co.uk/dogs/fleece/dog-coat. The pug fleece is tailored to breeds with wider necks and chests such as pugs and French bulldogs, in order to create a more comfortable fit reducing rubbing to our sensitive friends. One of the biggest causes for skin irritation is down to clothing rubbing, which is a common thing for these breeds, eliminating that factor keeps our little friends in better shape.

Finding the right nail colour for you

Choosing the right nail colour is a tricky business because you want to compliment your skin tone and style. Fairer skin tones look better with dark colours and darker skin tones look better with lighter colours. Now if you’re lucky enough to have an olive skin tone, you can get away with just about any colour of polish.

Some people may match their make up to their nail colour. You could match both your eye shadow or lipstick with a similar shade to your nail polish but it is important not to look too tacky with the exact same shade. Personally I wouldn’t match my make up to my nails but each individual knows what looks good on them.

Many stylists say that your nail colour should never match your outfit, while many other stylists say that your nails should match your outfit. When I go somewhere important I always make sure that my nails match my outfit. You can match them to a shade similar to a specific item that you’re wearing like your shoes or purse, I personally match my nails to my dresses that I wear. Trust your instincts when choosing your outfit and nail colour. Be considerate about the occasion that you’re attending. If you’re going to an important business meeting you don’t want to be having bright nails, I don’t think your colleague’s will appreciate your nails as much as you do. However if you’re going for a night out be daring and paint the town red.

Seasons play a big part when choosing the colour of your nails as don’t want your nails too bright or too bland for the season. During the summer months the weather is a lot hotter, the days are longer and the festival season is in full swing so always choose a bright colour to match. When Autumn approaches you want to start dulling down your nails and go for some oranges and browns to go with the colour of the leaves that as falling off the trees. During the harsh Winter months where the days are darker, you want to go for some dark and dull colours like dark reds and neutral colours. During the festive season your could also do Christmas themed nails. On the run up to Summer through Spring you want to start brightening back up your nails but not too bright as you always build up to the main event which so happens to be Summer.

I hope this advice helps for many of you and I look forward to seeing some peoples matching trends.

Your Winter Essentials

Many of you may be wondering how you can stay warm yet fashionable this winter. My number one advisory would be to layer items of clothing. Choose thick tights instead of thin tights when wearing dresses and skirts, also long sleeve tops are great in the winter as they can easily be tucked in without bulking. This will help you reach your desired look.

Wraps and ponchos are an amazing way to stay warm and fashionable. These stylish accessories can be worn in many ways to keep you looking the part. Wraps are great for when it’s not cold enough to wear a coat but you don’t want to let go of summer. This gives you no limit on what you can wear through the winter.
