Choosing the right nail colour is a tricky business because you want to compliment your skin tone and style. Fairer skin tones look better with dark colours and darker skin tones look better with lighter colours. Now if you’re lucky enough to have an olive skin tone, you can get away with just about any colour of polish.
Some people may match their make up to their nail colour. You could match both your eye shadow or lipstick with a similar shade to your nail polish but it is important not to look too tacky with the exact same shade. Personally I wouldn’t match my make up to my nails but each individual knows what looks good on them.
Many stylists say that your nail colour should never match your outfit, while many other stylists say that your nails should match your outfit. When I go somewhere important I always make sure that my nails match my outfit. You can match them to a shade similar to a specific item that you’re wearing like your shoes or purse, I personally match my nails to my dresses that I wear. Trust your instincts when choosing your outfit and nail colour. Be considerate about the occasion that you’re attending. If you’re going to an important business meeting you don’t want to be having bright nails, I don’t think your colleague’s will appreciate your nails as much as you do. However if you’re going for a night out be daring and paint the town red.
Seasons play a big part when choosing the colour of your nails as don’t want your nails too bright or too bland for the season. During the summer months the weather is a lot hotter, the days are longer and the festival season is in full swing so always choose a bright colour to match. When Autumn approaches you want to start dulling down your nails and go for some oranges and browns to go with the colour of the leaves that as falling off the trees. During the harsh Winter months where the days are darker, you want to go for some dark and dull colours like dark reds and neutral colours. During the festive season your could also do Christmas themed nails. On the run up to Summer through Spring you want to start brightening back up your nails but not too bright as you always build up to the main event which so happens to be Summer.
I hope this advice helps for many of you and I look forward to seeing some peoples matching trends.
Many of you may be wondering how you can stay warm yet fashionable this winter. My number one advisory would be to layer items of clothing. Choose thick tights instead of thin tights when wearing dresses and skirts, also long sleeve tops are great in the winter as they can easily be tucked in without bulking. This will help you reach your desired look.
Wraps and ponchos are an amazing way to stay warm and fashionable. These stylish accessories can be worn in many ways to keep you looking the part. Wraps are great for when it’s not cold enough to wear a coat but you don’t want to let go of summer. This gives you no limit on what you can wear through the winter.

Hopefully some of these handy winter tips will get you through the harsh british weather while also looking like a fashion queen.
As you all may know eyelashes are one of the most important things to a lady when it comes to finishing off your make up. In todays society nobody wants clumpy eyelashes which can be caused by many different mascaras when it comes to wanting the natural look.
You can go for many different options like eyelash extensions or strip lashes, eyelash extensions may seem easy by visiting a salon to get them applied and returning every 2 weeks to get them filled in but that is not the case. Although the eyelash extensions do look nice; after a few nights with them on they will start to clump up and twist round and in the mornings you will have to brush them apart, however this takes a lot less time than applying mascara and allowing you for a few extra minutes in bed.
Going to get your eyelashes filled in every 2 weeks is not only time consuming and can cost money over time, but can cause damage to your eyelashes as the process involves bonding the individual artificial lashes to your natural lashes.
If the artificial lashes are not removed properly then they will pull out your natural eyelashes and no lady particularly wants this to happen whereas strip lashes are a lot cheaper and can be reused for a few days, they also do no damage to your natural lashes. Applying strip lashes does however require a lot of patience as they may not always go right first time.
It can be difficult applying artificial lashes as you need to bond the lashes on as close as you can to your natural lash line in order for them to look natural. There is also the worry of the glue coming off during the day where people will be able to see that your lashes are not in fact natural.
Strip lashes are very good for if you don’t normally wear that much make up and you are going out and want your eyes to draw some attention, personally I’d use strip lashes as it is a lot cheaper over time and it was hard to fit in going to the salon to get strip lashes with the hours that I was working. Unfortunately you will never get the same look with strip lashes that you get with eyelash extensions but it looks a lot nicer than clumpy mascara eyelashes.
