Over the recent years pet fashion has turned into a multi-billion dollar industry, with high street stores like River Island all the way up to big named labels such as Ralph Lauren and Burberry creating items just for pets. You can get anything from simple sweaters and rain jackets all the way through to high-end ball gowns for those pooches who like to live the luxury lifestyle. With the cold weather rushing in, now is the time to treat your fur babies to some winter clothing. Here I will be showing you the most iconic styles for the season.
Waterproof rain jackets are definitely a must for this weather, as England rains on average 133 days of the year. These jackets can also be used in minus temperatures as some come with a fur layer on the inside to keep your four-legged friends warm. All of these jackets are machine washable and come in various different colours and sizes. This very fashionable padded green coat comes with a fleece liner and adjustable velcro straps for a very reasonable price of £11.95. To view this product go to ideas4pets.co.uk
When the weather is chilly, why not treat your dog to a knitted jumper? You can choose from a variety of different styles and some websites even let you design your own patterns. You can also get matching accessories such as socks and bobble hats just like I did for my French Bulldog. Breeds with pointier ears are more susceptible to the colder climates so this factor alone is why you should go the extra mile to keep them protected. Take a look at this gorgeous red knitted turtle neck, this item will ensure that you keep your fur baby warm yet fashionable. This item has been created to keep the heat in which is important for those wintery walks. This is available at https://www.etsy.com/
Many companies are now tailoring jumpers and fleeces to specific dog breeds. Take a look at this pug fleece, available at https://www.equafleece.co.uk/dogs/fleece/dog-coat. The pug fleece is tailored to breeds with wider necks and chests such as pugs and French bulldogs, in order to create a more comfortable fit reducing rubbing to our sensitive friends. One of the biggest causes for skin irritation is down to clothing rubbing, which is a common thing for these breeds, eliminating that factor keeps our little friends in better shape.
As well as buying knitted jumpers, you can also have a go at creating your own. This will be fun and informative and will also add some sentimental value to these items. If you’ve got the time and want to have a some fun then why not give it a go! Here are a few tips on how to get creative.
I hope you all enjoyed reading this blog and hopefully it inspires you all to treat your fur babies to these wonderful items. If any of them are like mine then you’ll have a hard job catching them once they see the clothes 😂
As some of you may or may not know, it is Queen Elizabeth II 91st birthday coming up on the 21st April. In order to celebrate her birthday I thought that I would take us back to some of her most iconic outfits.
The royal wedding is one of the most popular events of the decade so the dress has a large role to fit. This beautiful high-neck, satin, heavily embroidered dress was designed by British designer Norman Hartnell. At the back of the dress was a 15 foot patterned train attached at the shoulders with a silk veil and tiara. The tiara was given to Elizabeth on her wedding day from her mother.
The Queens Coronation day is another popular event of the decade so this required a lot of preparation before the main event. A few days before the coronation, Queen Elizabeth II was spotted in this striking laced gown. The time and dedication spent on every inch of detail has set the bar high for the Coronation dress. This dress was also designed by what seems to be the Queens favourite designer Norman Hartnell.
The day of Queen Elizabeths II Coronation soon arrives and designer Norman Hartnell and herself have out done themselves with the magnificent choice of dress. The gold trimmed dress with gold details go hand in hand with the St. Edwards Crown. The crowns design is made of gold and includes many Sapphires, Tourmalines and other remarkable stones.
In 1999 Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Her Majesty wore a very fitting gold silk dress with embroidery down both sides of the dress. She accessorised the dress by matching a rather large gold diamond necklace with two gold bracelets over the top of her pearl white gloves.
I hope you all have enjoyed my blog! Take style advice from Queen Elizabeth II and have a great time celebrating her birthday.
Hey everyone! Following on from my earlier blog about the differences between acrylic nails and silk wrap nails, I finally got a full set of silk wraps done. It’s safe to say that I am loving these nails and would 100% recommend them to the budding nail extension wearers.
They look completely natural where I had the tips shortened and it’s as if I have only got gel polish on my natural nails. I decided to go for the short nail look as this will make it a bit easier doing day-to-day tasks and help make them appear a bit more natural. Also having the length shorter will improve the strength of the nails as silk is a lot more fragile than acrylic so you have to be extremely careful with them. Don’t use your nails as tools!
Here’s a picture of my fabulous nails that I treated myself to!
I hope everyone that tries Silk nails loves the end result as much as I have.
There has been a new break through in the world of nail technology. Although the method of silk nails was brought to the UK in the 1980’s, they have only recently took off with more and more beauticians training in the method. For many years the silk method was shadowed by the old fashioned acrylics.
In the world of nails it has recently been found out how bad acrylics nails really are. With the many nail shapes and lengths that you can have done, after a few days they will start to grow out and look very noticeably out of shape. Not only can it work out to cost a lot of money with returning every two weeks to get them infilled or a new set put on, it can also be very time consuming. No one fully knows the underlying damages that acrylics cause to your nails especially when they have been used for a long period of time. When using an electric file it is critical that you down file too far down into the nail plate as this can be very painful for the client and can leave your client with split nails, once having the acrylics applied it can be very hard to spot infections which will cause them to get worse over time. Many high street salons still use a product called Methyl Methacrylate which has been banned due to the toxicity levels. Methyl Methacrylate is mainly used in dentistry as a hardening agent, due to the strength many beautician’s thought that this would make the acrylics stay on for longer. The more dangerous side of using this product is when catching your nails on something could result in pulling the nail plate away from the nail bed, in the long run this could potentially cause the nail plate to be unable to grow back. If acrylics are fitted and removed properly using the correct products there is usually not that much damage, other than having really long nails.
The method of silk nails are much better as they don’t damage your nails half as much as acrylics do. Although silk wraps cost between £5 to £10 more than acrylics it is definitely worth paying the extra bit than have to worry about the damage you will be left with. They take about 30 minutes longer as it is a more complicated and time consuming process, cutting the silk wrap the the correct size is the time consuming part as it is a thin fabric and one cut can make you have to start again as opposed to acrylics where you are filing the tips. Many people think silk wraps look a lot nicer than acrylics as it is a more natural look and they are not obvious, they also help your nails grow,
If you are experiencing some bad acrylic damage here are some ways to help solve your problems: Trim your nails down and push your cuticles back as this will stimulate nail growth, it is important to keep your nails clean to prevent infection, moisturise your hands and nails, if your nails are not too sore then try to file all the rough edges out and buff the nail plate as the oil in your nail will serve as a protective layer. Lastly apply a light oil, such as solar oil, to your nails daily and do not paint them with polish for a while as your nails need to breathe.
Next week I will be trying silk wraps out, I hope my blog has helped all you acrylics wearers out there like myself!

Lets go back to a very special event that happened on Wednesday 1st March where the new Range Rover Velar was unveiled at the London Design Museum. This incredible event welcomed many celebrities such as Damian Lewis, Zara Tindall, Jimmy Carr and many more.
Zara Tindall is used to being in the paparazzi’s eye as the Queen’s granddaughter, as we well know, the royals love to dress to impress to these events! Here is the beautiful Zara wearing an all black outfit and doesn’t she look amazing. The silk top adds a bit of shine to the outfit, allowing her skin to glow in the perfect lighting. Those luscious closed-toe pointed heals with a thick band gives the perfect amount of height and glamour. From the feather sleeves to the pointed shoes, she really can work the all black look.
This English actor Damian Lewis appeared in many shows such as Homeland, Wolf Hall, Billions and here he is now hosting the release of the new Range Rover Velar. Mr Lewis is going for the smart casual look with the skinny fit jeans, blazer and scarf. This look is quite a popular outfit amongst the male gender as it is an easy look to achieve without looking too over dressed for an occasion. Very safe choice Mr Lewis!
Here are the hilarious comedians that are Rob Brydon and Jimmy Carr. Rob has gone for the very smart two piece blue suit with a red tie. You can’t go wrong with this neat impressive look.
While the wonderful Jimmy Carr has gone for a dark three piece suit with a light grey blazer. His shirt and tie are loosely done showing that he has a more relaxed approach to wearing a suit. Mr Carr usually goes for a neat look like in his show 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown where he wears a plush 2 or 3 piece suit. This is Mr Carr’s dress down event.
I hope this blog has helped prepare many of you for these incredible events. Happy blogging!
The Oscars are the most iconic film award ceremony held in Hollywood so all the celebrities from the film industry are looking stand out at this prestigious event.
Here is the beautiful Emma Stone in a custom made Givenchy dress. This incredible dress allows Emma to show off her figure while showing the right amount of skin. The golden glow off the dress is in the height of fashion at the minute and is the perfect outfit for accepting those golden awards.
Check out those ruffles and velvet bow tie on the very dreamy Ryan Gosling. Ryan appears to be going suave for the oscars this year as the phenomenal La La Land takes home 6 awards. With an outfit like this, it was almost as if he knew that La La Land was going to be receiving many awards!
Halle Berry’s beautiful dress caught the eyes of many viewers on the 26th February. The champagne frills at the bottom of the dress gives an amazing effect of confetti with a beautiful train at the back. The black wrap at the top of the dress breaks up the solid champagne colour and gives a bit of body to the dress. The sparkles on the dress really are the right theme for this glamorous event.
Emma Roberts wore a beautiful two tone frilled dress. The black and the cream are a great match but the definitive line between the two sections it up nicely. The layers at the bottom of the dress makes it flow and gives ultimate body. The upper section of the dress allows y0u to show off the amount of cleavage that you possess, it also allows you to have the amount of cleavage that you desire.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my insight of outfits at the Oscars 20717.
